Welcome to the website for author and freelance writer, Barry Lillie.

 

 

Barry is a freelance writer for the English speaking magazine market, he also writes for the trade press and occasionaly writes content for the web. He currently works as a features writer for Italy Magazine: The premier magazine for all things Italian, with an international readership of over 180,000; within 24 hours of posting, Barry's articles attract over 3,500 'likes' on the magazine's Facebook page alone, his latest feature on the Italian region of Lombardy attracted on average five readers per minute in the first 12 hours and in January 2014, Barry's article about Italian coffee culture was voted the magazine's top food and wine story of 2013.

 

 

Barry is also a contributor to many other English speaking magazines and in 2013 he was approached to become Italian correspondent for UK magazine Gay Times and is a regular contributor to a newsletter for Italian ex-pats in the U.S.

 

Author of the novella, Willow and the Motorway Horses, the non-fiction, New Zealand Travelogue, Travels in a Tin Can and with over 50 professionally produced plays and countless educational workshops, Barry also offers a critique service for new writers and was involved previously in a one-to-one young writer mentoring scheme.

 

Barry has 17 years' experience of working in schools and colleges in the U.K. and still offers various services ranging from revision workshops for selected English texts, playwriting workshops and magazine and creative writing workshops.
